Everyone else was doing it...
Dec. 17th, 2004 12:37 amThere's this thing going around (sort of like a virus, but voluntary -- revenge of the meme!) in which people run their playlists at random and post the first line of 10 songs. The idea is that people who recognize the lines will reply to that effect in the comments. If a line is correctly guessed, then the journal's owner (yours truly) will cross it out. Googling the lyrics is cheating.
I had some trouble in a few cases deciding what "a line" was... arguably, you get the first two lines on a few of these. Some are easy (if you know the song) and some are a pain in the butt (even if you adore the song.) That's why I snagged 15 instead of 10. In my case, it was also a run of my Launchcast station (skipping the miscellany) instead of a playlist as such, but... you get the idea.
I also had some trouble understanding what people were actually saying in a few of these. I wound up googling a few songs myself to make sure I didn't make any weird mistakes!
Respond if you want; don't if you don't wanna. It's all the same to me.

1. In Europe and America there's a growing feeling of hysteria
2. Looking to the sea, crowds of people wait for me
3. We passed upon the stair, we spoke of was and when
4. In a little while, surely you'll be mine
5. Tell me, do you think it'd be all right if I could just crash here tonight
6. See, I reckon you're about an eight or a nine...
7. The world was on fire and no one could save me but you
8. There is something that I see in the way you look at me
9. I can feel it coming in the air; I'm dying.
10. Guess who's back, back again (artist down, song waiting!)
11. Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life
12. I can't feel this way much longer expecting to survive
13. He was a hard-headed man, he was brutally handsome
14. When I grew up, well it felt great, I watched how others took their fate
15. I can feel no sense of measure, no illusions as we take
