BPAL Reviews 8
Dec. 2nd, 2006 10:18 pmWhen I was chitchatting with my family this evening, my father (hi, Dad!) mentioned the scent reviewing I've been doing and inquired about whether I had reviewed them all yet. The short answer is, "No, and I'm not going to!"
The longer answer: Black Phoenix handblends scents and creates them only to order. Consequently, there is no financial disadvantage to having a lot of recipes... if no one orders the scents, they just don't get made. So there are a lot of recipes. To be specific, there are around 475 "impable" scents (by which I mean the scents that have sample sizes available), not to mention the limited editions and so forth. I am aware of someone who is trying to obtain and review every scent that BPAL has ever produced (
supremegoddess1) but... yes. No. Not me. Even through the secondary market, it would be expensive.
However, I am having great fun with my reviewing; it is silly and it makes me happy. I've decided that I will review any scent that comes into my hands; since most of my scent samples are purchased in bulk on eBay, I wind up with things I would never order (Thanatos) and wind up trying them anyway (Thanatos) and occasionally discover that I really like them anyway (Thanatos).
If anyone is curious about the Twilight Alchemy Lab creations,
naamah_darling has started reviewing a set. These are the religious/magical ritual oils. I'm not planning to do them myself; I'm curious about the Tarot oils, but that's as mystical as I plan to get.
On to the good stuff.
( Eris, Verchernyaya, Zephyr, Queen of Sheba, Jabberwocky, The Coiled Serpent, and Knecht Ruprecht. )
