Dell flatly refused to send me a technician to correct their mistake. They also prohibited me from having anyone else move the wireless card from the old computer into the new computer (where both computers referenced are the ones that they sent me.)

I flatly refused to have them send me a THIRD computer (are they insane?) and told them I would send back both computers and take my business elsewhere.

However, they did agree to overnight me an external wireless modem at no charge to me. I thought this seemed (after another couple hours of going round and round with people) like a reasonable solution.

The punch line: they are overnighting it on September 13. The order has to be processed.

I thought about rejecting this solution, but decided to let it be. I do have a computer now, at least, even if it can't reach the Internet. Her name is Regalia (no, I don't know why) and she allowed me to install and play Fable last night. (The sheer quality of the graphics and sound went a long way toward settling me down.) And it isn't her fault that she was manufactured by Dell.
