I just updated Mossdog with two versions of one song. No percussion or glitz on this one -- I only took the piano music I'd already been playing from, entered it into Finale, and saved the file as an mp3.

To be more accurate, I saved it twice... once on the "acoustic grand piano" instrument, and once on the "electric piano 2" instrument. I'm drawn to the electric piano sound on this, but I can't decide if that's just because it's "different" or if it's because it's an actual improvement.

I uploaded both versions to Mossdog, but I'm planning to remove one of them. If you have an opinion about which one is better, please let me know -- I would be interested in the feedback. It's "We Love And We Lose And We Love" at http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=701018.

So that's question #1: Which version sounds better?

Question #2 is a bit more abstract. What emotions or moods can be expressed in straight instrumental music? Thus far, my list is:

- happiness/excitement
- amusement
- confidence/triumph
- reverence/awe
- soothing/comfort
- sadness/loneliness/melancholy
- menace/spookiness
- anger
- stress/frenzy (not in the Vampire sense, but the "rush rush rush, so much to do and so little time" sense)

Is there anything that should be added to this list? Do you have examples?
