Ran across this artist randomly today, and I like his her work.

While pulling down v1 of "We Love and We Lose and We Love", I clicked "delete" more than once before the computer had time to process. It spat back:

"that song no longer exist"

Error messages brought to you, apparently, by emo cat.
So, Sibelius finally arrived! After a few headaches, it's out of its box and I'm learning a bit about it. It's cranky as heck, crashes a lot, and wants me to reset my computer all the time -- for example, it won't recognize speed settings while saving a .wav file right now. (I don't know why, but it was recognizing them a moment ago, so it will probably fix once I restart my computer.) [Updated: it didn't fix on reboot. I am puzzled and concerned and wrote to tech support.]

Due to my Finale reflexes, I'm not finding Sibelius intuitive in the slightest, but I'm slowly adjusting and getting used to it. At [livejournal.com profile] tumorous's recommendation, I also downloaded Audacity so that I can save Sibelius's .wav files as .mp3 files and get them over to Soundclick.

There are depths and depths to this program that I haven't plumbed. It seems to have a heck of a lot of mixing power, but I don't even know the first thing about how to use it. I'm probably going to go shopping for a book that will walk me through -- the help files just aren't adequate for my comprehension.

"I Remember" - My first piece executed on Sibelius instead of Finale. Piano solo. The complexity of the bass part (compared to everything else I've written, at least) is directly due to [livejournal.com profile] derspatchel's influence.

Everything else is left over from Finale....

"Dreamer's Song" - Rock ballad style; percussion, piano, and flute.
"Frostfire" - Oboe, piccolo, bassoon, and harp. Pretty standard for me, I suspect.
"My Virtuoso" - Flute, oboe, and bassoon in a round.

Enjoy!
