My problem with the piano.

My left hand plays chords. It operates as a single unit.

My right hand plays notes. It operates as five fingers.

I need to teach each hand to do the other hand's job, and then to splice them together, so that they can both do notes simultaneously and both do chords simultaneously.

This is like learning to touch-type all over again.
